Collection of general information
When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. This information is technically necessary to correctly deliver the website content you have requested and is mandatory when using the internet. We statistically evaluate anonymous information of this kind to optimise our website and the technology behind it.
Cookies
Like many other websites, we also use so-called ‘cookies’. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system on your computer and your connection to the Internet. Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies helps us to make navigation easier for you and to ensure that our web pages are displayed correctly. Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent. Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. You can disable the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help function of your internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.
SSL encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL).
Comment function
When users leave comments in the blog, the time of their creation and the username previously chosen by the website visitor are also stored in addition to this information. This is for our security, as we can be held liable for illegal content on our website, even if it was created by users.
Newsletter
When you register to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be notified by e-mail of circumstances relevant to the service or registration (e.g. changes to the newsletter offer or technical conditions). For a registration to be effective, we require a valid e-mail address. We use a ‘double opt-in’ procedure to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an e-mail address. For this purpose, we log the order of the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the requested reply. Further data is not collected. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is not passed on to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. Every newsletter contains a link for this purpose. You can also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or inform us of your request via the contact option given at the end of this data protection notice.
Contact form
If you contact us by email or using the contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for possible follow-up questions.
Deletion or blocking of data
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as required by the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose no longer applies or these deadlines have expired, the corresponding data will be routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with legal requirements.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, due to the activation of IP anonymisation on these websites, your IP address will be shortened by Google in advance within member states of the European Union or in other states that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the data generated by cookies about your use of the website (incl. your IP address) from being passed to Google, and the processing of these data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: Browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.
In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our pages by clicking on this link. This installs an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data for this website and for this browser in the future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
Use of Adobe Typekit
We use Adobe Typekit for the visual design of our website. Typekit is a service of Adobe Systems Software Ireland Ltd. that grants us access to a font library. To integrate the fonts we use, your browser must establish a connection to an Adobe server in the USA and download the font required for our website. As a result, Adobe receives the information that our website has been accessed from your IP address. Further information about Adobe Typekit can be found in the Adobe privacy policy, which you can access here: www.adobe.com/privacy/typekit.html
Use of Google Maps
This website uses Google Maps API to visually display geographic information. When Google Maps is used, Google also collects, processes and uses data about how visitors use the map functions. You can find more information about data processing by Google in the Google Privacy Policy. You can also change your personal data protection settings in the data protection centre there. Detailed instructions for managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.
YouTube videos embedded
We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plug-ins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plug-in, a connection to YouTube's servers is established. This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your surfing behaviour with you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour. If you have disabled cookies for the Google Ad programme, you can be sure that no such cookies will be set when you watch YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser. Further information on data protection at ‘YouTube’ can be found in the provider's data protection declaration at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/
Social Plugins
We offer you the option of using so-called ‘social media buttons’ on our website. To protect your data, we use the ‘Shariff’ solution for implementation. This means that these buttons are only integrated into the website as graphics that contain a link to the corresponding website of the button provider. By clicking on the graphic, you will be redirected to the services of the respective provider. Only then will your data be sent to the respective provider. If you do not click on the graphic, no exchange will take place between you and the providers of the social media buttons. Information about the collection and use of your data in the social networks can be found in the respective terms of use of the corresponding providers. More information about the Shariff solution can be found here: http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html
We have integrated the social media buttons of the following companies on our website: Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave - Palo Alto - CA 94304 - USA)
Google Plus/Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway - Mountain View - CA 94043 - USA)
Google AdWords
Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you have reached our website via an ad placed by Google, Google Adwords will place a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is placed when a user clicks on an ad placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can see that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are told the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that could be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can refuse the setting of a cookie required for this purpose – for example, by means of a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies or by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain ‘googleleadservices.com’. Please note that you must not delete the opt-out cookies if you do not want any measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all the cookies in your browser, you will need to set the opt-out cookie again.
Your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection
You have the right to receive information about your personal data stored by us at any time. You also have the right to correct, block or, apart from the mandatory data storage for business transactions, delete your personal data. Please contact our data protection officer. The contact details can be found at the bottom. In order for a block on data to be taken into account at any time, this data must be kept in a block file for control purposes. You can also request the deletion of the data, provided that there is no legal archiving obligation. Insofar as such an obligation exists, we will block your data on request. You can make changes or revoke your consent with future effect by notifying us accordingly.
Amendments to our data protection provisions
We reserve the right to amend this data protection declaration from time to time to ensure that it always complies with the latest legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection declaration will then apply the next time you visit our website.

Google Analytics Supplement
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google in advance within member states of the European Union or in other states that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the data generated by cookies about your use of the website (incl. your IP address) from being passed to Google, and the processing of these data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
You can prevent data collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link.
This sets an opt-out cookie that prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website.
For more information on terms of use and data protection, please refer to the Google Analytics Terms of Service or the Google Analytics Overview. Please note that on this website, Google Analytics has been extended by the code ‘gat._anonymizeIp();’ to ensure anonymised collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).
reCAPTCHA
To protect your requests via the online form, we use the reCAPTCHA service from Google Inc. (Google). The query is used to determine whether the input is made by a human or abusively by automated, machine processing. The query includes sending the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. For this purpose, your input will be transmitted to Google and used there. However, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before this happens. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of this service. The IP address provided by reCaptcha as part of reCaptcha will not be merged with other Google data. These data are subject to Google's different data protection regulations.
